Animal Control

The Cumberland Metropolitan Police Department utilizes both Marion County and Hancock County Animal Control Services respecting the location needed for the service.

For any domestic animal related issues, please call your respective county's Animal Control Division at the numbers below.

Hancock County Animal Control: (317) 477-4367

If you believe an animal is acting aggressive or has injured a person, you may call 911 and the dispatch control center will advise Cumberland Officers and Animal Control Officers to respond. This is only in cases of an emergency.

County animal control divisions do not handle "wild" animal issues such as raccoons, deer, or possum. For these issues, please contact the Indiana Department of Natural Resources' Customer Service at (317) 232-4200.
