The Town of Cumberland has two (2) existing trails, the 21st Street Trail and the Cumberland Pennsy Trail, and is currently developing the Buck Creek Trail.
The 21st Street Trail is a multipurpose trail located on the north side of 21st Street between the Hancock/Marion County line and Buck Creek Rd.
The Cumberland Pennsy Trail is a three (3) mile stretch of trail running through the Town of Cumberland along the abandoned Pennsylvania rail line. The Cumberland Pennsy Trail is part of the National Road Heritage Trail and plans are being prepared to connect the trail to existing sections of trail in Indianapolis and Greenfield. For more information, visit the Indy Greenways website.
The Buck Creek Trail is currently under development, with funding support from the Indiana Department of Transportation and the Metropolitan Planning Organization using federal aid funds. The Trail will run along Buck Creek and will connect the Cumberland Pennsy Trail to the 21st Street Trail. The Buck Creek Trail will tie the trail system together with connections to Lions Park and many Cumberland neighborhoods.
