Board of Zoning Appeals

The Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) is a quasi-judicial board that reviews requests for variances from the zoning ordinance.  These variances may be from developmental standards (like the distance to a property line) or use (like using land in a commercial zone for a residence).  The BZA also hears administrative appeals and reviews special exceptions, which are uses that require an additional level of review to make sure it is appropriate.  Under Indiana Code, members of the BZA may not be contacted about a case.

The BZA meets the first Monday of the month at 7:00 p.m. if there is business to conduct.  The members are appointed to four-year terms and are as follows:
  • Patrick Brady
  • Ted Brindle
  • Harold Daniels
  • Ross Nelson
BZA minutes and agendas may be found in our Document Center.
