The Town of Cumberland is located along the Historic National Road withAlong Historic National Road deep roots as a transportation hub.  The Town's rich history is an important element of the Town's identity and through its commitment to preserve the history the Town Council President appoints a Town Historian annually.

Cumberland's Park system includes three (3) parks of various sizes and amenities to offer.  The Cumberland Pennsy Trail (also known as the National Road Heritage Trail) will begin construction in 2009.  Once completed the trail will run from German Church Road to Mt. Comfort Rd. along the abandoned Pennsy Central railroad.  Eventually, the trail will connect to Greenfield and Indianapolis sections of the Pennsy Buck Creek 2Trail.

On Saturday mornings from May to October, many residents can be found at the Farmer's Market.  The Farmer's Market added a Tuesday night market in 2009 and has additional expansion plans for the future.  The Calendar of Events includes information on the market as well as other Community Events.
