Cumberland Pennsy Trail
Opened to the Public: 2010
The Cumberland Pennsy Trail is one of the town's greatest assets, and preserves the legacy of the Pennsylvania Railroad corridor through Cumberland while providing a place for recreation throughout the entire community. The trail features a unique Solar System Model, which is laid out in scale along the trail. The educational information at each planet is a great learning opportunity for families and schools alike. Travel the same corridor by foot or bike that President Herbert Hoover traveled via his train as well as the funeral train of Abraham Lincoln en route to Indianapolis.
Finding the Pennsy Trail
Trail access can be gained from the new ending terminus near CR 600 W and U.S. 40, where there is a parking lot. Access can also be gained from CR 700 W or German Church Road (The Originating Terminus of the Cumberland Portion
